We have reached the midway point of the NBA season! More importantly it is NBA All-Star Weekend! Fans across the globe can shift their focus to the city of New Orleans for the 66th NBA All-Star game. NBA All-Star Weekend is the time of year when every basketball fan can put aside their differences and celebrate the game! To help celebrate the game there will be many great activations around the city. One of those activations is the Jordan Brand Invitational (JBI). We are proud again to partner with the Jordan Brand to launch the next installment of JBI. JBI is one of the premier high school basketball showcases in the country. There you can watch nationally ranked programs take on the top local programs.
This year’s JBI will be held at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans. The school was a pioneer for battling segregation in Louisiana. In the 1960's the school ended segregation of high school athletics with many successful legal challenges. Premier national program Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson) returns to JBI. The top three local programs participating are Scotlandville (Baton Rouge), St. Augustine (New Orleans) and Crescent City (Metairie). Notable players include: Billy Preston (Kansas) and Matt Coleman (Texas) from Oak Hill and Ja’Vonte Smart (Undecided) No. 13 player/No. 3 PG in the Class of 2018 from Scotlandville.
