Top Players to Descend on Los Angeles for Premium Training Experience

Beaverton, Oregon – Now in its second year, the Nike Basketball Academy will once again host the best high school athletes and select college basketball players for a premium training experience in southern California. Nike Basketball will transform a local airport hangar into a first-class basketball training facility from July 25-27.

After previously hosting three separate skills academies for guards, wings and bigs, Nike Elite Youth Basketball integrated these events for one seamless experience last summer. The Academy allows the sport’s brightest young players to compete against the best, while receiving guidance from Nike Basketball’s biggest stars including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. Additional basketball legends will also be on hand to serve as mentors and coaches for the next generation of stars.

“Nike Elite Youth Basketball continually strives to provide our young athletes with opportunities to develop as people and players,” said Carlton DeBose, Director of Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball. “The Academy is a truly premium experience bringing together the greatest at all levels of the game and allowing our professional athletes to serve as instructors and mentors to the next generation.”

As part of the experience, participants will go through a professional basketball combine, off-court workouts, drills, film sessions and 5-on-5 competition.

Nike Elite Youth Basketball is a division of NIKE, Inc. dedicated to improving the game of basketball. EYB offers young players a place to receive superior skill instruction, honest evaluation and life-changing experiences. The programs and events push kids to work hard and to challenge them to be better on and off the court.
