USAB Fantasy Camp to be hosted August 12-14 at UNLV and Wynn Las Vegas
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Basketball has announced its coaching staff for the third annual Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas this summer from August 12-14. This ultra-exclusive camp allows basketball enthusiasts the opportunity to train like a member of the USA National Team. As previously announced, 1992 Dream Team assistant coach PJ Carlesimo (ESPN) will once again be the camp director, with Jay Bilas (ESPN) and Bill Raftery (CBS Sports) serving as commissioners.
Coaches for this year’s fantasy camp will include Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2015 inductee and Kentucky’s head coach John Calipari, Pittsburgh’s Jamie Dixon, Oklahoma’s Lon Kruger, Wake Forest’s Danny Manning, Purdue’s Matt Painter, Villanova’s Jay Wright and former Georgia Tech and College of Charleston coach Bobby Cremins. As some of the best in the game, these coaches have been involved with USA Basketball for a number of years in many capacities. Danny Manning played on the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team, while Bobby Cremins served as an assistant coach in 1996.
“Our USAB Fantasy Camp participants have come to expect a high level of instruction and insight from our coaching staff and this year will be no different,” said Jerry Colangelo, USA Basketball chairman. “This camp is the ultimate insider experience for those who love the game of basketball and our exceptional coaching staff is prepared to provide three full days of on-court action at UNLV.”
Since the USA Basketball Fantasy Camp’s inception, campers have joined the USA Basketball National Team members as guests at the illustrious Wynn Las Vegas. Beyond their luxurious accommodations, participants will receive many unique experiences and perks including coaching and instruction from the top names in basketball, access to USA National Team practices during its 2015 training camp, special social events at Tryst Nightclub, an exclusive USA Basketball Nike apparel and footwear package and the opportunity to attend the 2015 USA Basketball Showcase on August 13 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Fantasy Camp registrants must be at least 35 years or older to participate. Rooms, meals and ground transportation will be provided as part of the event.
