local time.  After announcing its partnership with the Croatian National Basketball Federation earlier this year, the brand made the decision to bring the camp to Zagreb for the first time in its history. Croatian players have a strong history in the Jordan Brand Classic International Game. Lorvo Mazalin (2013) and Marko Arapovic (2012) both won International Game MVP honors, while Mario Hezonja (2011) had a strong showing that has led to greater exposure in the US.

“We are very excited to be holding our basketball camp in the historic city of Zagreb, Croatia for the first time,” said Larry Miller, President of Jordan Brand.  “We are proud of our association with the Croatian National Basketball Federation and feel that holding the camp in Zagreb is a natural extension of that partnership.”

The camp will feature the top 40 players from throughout Europe, who will train and compete over two days to earn a spot in the International Game during the Jordan Brand Classic this April.  Only the 10 best 15/16-year-olds will join the team in Brooklyn, NY, along with 10 other players from around the world who will be selected at a later date.  The complete Jordan Brand Classic International roster will be unveiled in early April.

“The camp is a unique opportunity for these players to train with some of the finest coaches in the world,” said Miller. “We are excited to see which players take the next step and earn invitations to the United States to continue their training as part of the Jordan Brand Classic.”

The first and second day of the basketball camp in Zagreb features strength and conditioning training sessions, skills instruction and competition with top coaches from both the U.S. and Europe.  The third day will culminate with the announcement of the camp’s two All-Star team rosters, followed by a match-up on the hardwood that evening.  Previous host locations of the Jordan Brand International Camp include London, England; Istanbul, Turkey; Vilnius, Lithuania; Athens, Greece; Rome, Italy and Barcelona, Spain.
