QUAI 54
Quai 54 had its inaugural start 15 years ago and has grown to be recognized as one of the largest and most respected streetball tournaments in the world. Every year, the World’s best streetball teams compete to win not only the title, but also the respect of their peers under the mantra “Bring your game, not your name”. Being that this is the sole streetball tournament that Jordan Brand sponsors, each edition showcases the most sought-after kicks, fashion, music, and hip atmosphere. Quai 54 is where the love of basketball and traveling converge. For those that love to partake in both, this is a necessary bucket list item. For the past 4 years, Position Sports has collaborated with Jordan Brand and Quai 54 to bring to life a supreme brand experience to both local and global consumers, athletes, and retailers alike.
KOBE BRYANT
After announcing his retirement in 2017, Kobe Bryant went on a global tour to share about his remarkable career, achievements, and product line. Nike Basketball retained Position Sports services to assist in the implementation of a community-oriented activation that allowed Kobe to interact with French consumers in Paris. Nike basketball decked out a local gym in order to promote the sport of basketball and the newly launched Connected NBA jersey / partnership. All key stakeholders from the basketball community were in attendance at the venue including a mix of players, media, and influencers. Later in the day the venue layout was altered from a private dinner party with Ricardo Tisci, Neymar Jr., and Kobe, into a full-on tournament with the best local crews.
LEBRON JAMES
In 2018, LeBron James opened a school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. His belief being that athletes can impact the youth, by inspiring them and giving them the tools to believe in a better future. Nike Basketball contracted Position Sports services to work on their “More Than An Athlete Tour” in France and Germany. A three-day academy was hosted in France where 50 boys and 50 girls enhanced not only their basketball acumen, but also were taught life skills to better prepare them for the future. Groups of campers presented the athlete and his entourage with their plan to impact the community through basketball. The winning group was then given an exclusive invitation to a Los Angeles Lakers game and a tour of their training facility. In Germany, a temporary gym was opened to all Nike members who registered. Those that registered were offered the unique opportunity to play on the iconic court. After all of the festivities had been completed, LeBron came to meet the consumers and raise money for a Berlin NGO focused on sports and accessibility.
GIANNIS Antetokounmpo
2019 was a milestone for Giannis Antetokounmpo’s career. Giannis racked up quite a number of accomplishments this year, from leading his team to the best record in the NBA for the regular season, being named a captain at the All Star game, receiving MVP of the league, to being the first non US athlete to have his own signature basketball line. In celebration of all these monumental moments, Nike Basketball hired Position Sports to coordinate an unparalleled experience in Athens, Greece. This community driven event revealed Giannis’ life in Greece and how he grew up to become the man he is today. Media and influencers from all over the world came to experience him in his element through the lens of his unique story. Court refurbishments, clinics, tournaments and music all coalesced to bring together an unmatched two days of incredible energy and atmosphere.
